Summer has come to a close, and it’s that time of the year again- Back to School! This month is not only prep for our children, but also for ourselves as parents for the Back to School craze that ultimately leads up to the first day of the new school year.
Getting back into the habit of studying and doing homework is not always the easiest task for anyone let alone a child. Long summer days, pool time, and late nights are still fresh in our children’s minds. Needless to say, reinforcement is needed to get back in the habit of being studious. Kindergarteners and first graders are eager to go back to school, but having older children have the same mindset is more of a challenge.
The link below is a great read for all parents who have their children starting up school the next couple of weeks. It demonstrates how martial arts help increase fine motor skills and why it is important for a child’s cognition and academic performance. I hope we all find this read helpful in getting our children ready to begin a new and successful school year!
